How many guests are permitted on a charter?

Six guests are allowed onboard the Pal-O-Mine per charter, plus the crew.

What are the costs per trip?

The cost per trip varies depending on the type of charter the customer is interested in. Customers can choose between morning or afternoon fishing charters, scenic sunset tours among other options. Contact Captain Francis Hemsley for questions concerning your trip.

How long are the trips?

Morning trips typically begin at 6 am and the boat is usually back to the dock by 12:30 pm. Afternoon trips typically begin at 2:30 pm and the boat is usually back to the dock by 6:30 pm. Customers have the option to customize their trips duration.

Can trips be rescheduled?

If customers find the need to reschedule their charter due to inclement weather, charters can be rescheduled based on the next availability for the vessel and party.

What type of fishing is offered onboard Pal-O-Mine?

Onboard Pal-O-Mine, guests can troll, live line, chum and jig. The main targeted fish in the Chesapeake Bay is the Rockfish, also known as Striped Bass. Rockfish can be caught from May until December using a wide variety of techniques, all offered on board. Other types of fish that are often caught on the bay are Bluefish, Spanish Mackerel, Catfish as well as bottom fishing for Perch or Spot.

What kind of food and drinks are served?

The Pal-O-Mine offers service that very few other charter boats offer on the Chesapeake Bay. On board, guests can enjoy breakfast that consists of local Eastern Shore meats such as bacon, sausage and scrapple, fresh eggs and hot biscuits. Lunches and dinners served are a wide variety of Chesapeake classics, including Maryland crab cakes, marinated Chesapeake chicken among other special kinds of foods and sides. Ask about all of the catering options we have! There is always a cooler of water, soda and adult beverages for any charter.

What should guests bring along?

Guests should be prepared to bring with them any necessary clothes that suits the weather forecast for that day. This includes jackets for cooler weather or rain wear and bathing suits. If guests have a specific drink of choice, please feel free to bring that along. Large coolers are not necessary, there is plenty of room for drink storage on the boat.
